bike

Angel Oak

This is Angel Oak which is near Charleston, South Carolina. It's a 1500 year old tree and some of its branches are touching the ground. They almost looked like extended arms sprawling all over to cover the big area.

It was just amazing to see how beautiful and how much vitality this tree has.

finished pieces

My winter ceramic class is finally over and here are some of my new pieces.
I noticed all my pieces shrunk as they were dried, so I'll have to take that into consideration next time.
Gradually I am gaining a control of the shape of pieces and am starting to feel whether I can push and pull more of the clay. Though I still have unexpected results from glazing, some of my pieces turned out better because of the choice and mixture of glazes.

These are some of the colors that I dig for now and also the idea of making sets would be nice.
